Brisbane Skin Check Clinic

Our Brisbane clinics offer whole body skins checks performed by a trained general practitioner, Dr Wendy Wong. If unusual or suspicious lesions are found, she can recommend the appropriate treatment options available to you.

Early diagnosis and treatment is the best way to reduce skin cancer rates in Queensland. Skin check screening involves a whole body skin examination to carefully examine the skin for any signs of unusual skin features that need further investigation. It is important to get your skin checked regularly.

Risk factors for skin cancer include:

  • Skin that easily burns
  • A family history of skin cancer
  • More than 100 moles
  • A previous skin cancer
  • Increasing age
What you can do to reduce your risk of developing skin cancer:

  • Examine your own skin every month using this "Check your skin" guide by the Cancer Council of Australia
  • Get a comprehensive skin check by a doctor once a year
  • Avoid the sun between 10am and 4pm
  • Cover up with clothing including a hat and sunglasses that block UV radiation
  • Never use tanning beds
  • Apply SFP30+ sunscreen 30 minutes before sun exposure, and reapply every 2 hours

To book your annual skin check or if you have any spots that you are worried about, please make an appointment with us.
